ezbook product announcements and updates – April 19 2018
As part of the ongoing enhancements of ezbook, we have recently deployed a number of updates. These updates include;
- Ability to receive Outlook & Google Calendar Invitation of bookings via email
- Site Administrators can update the company logo by themselves
- Site Administrators can place a message (200 characters max) on their Site Login page
- Simplified user support request process
- Updated moderator window to include date & time of request and ability to sort (ascending and descending)
- New Login pages
Details on each of the above enhancements have been provided below and we would like to ask users to provide their feedback to email@example.com.
1. Users can now receive Outlook & Google Calendar Invitation of their bookings via email
After successfully completing a booking, users can now send themselves an invite to add to their Outlook calendar and/or Google Calendar. In addition to helping users manage their schedule and providing a reminder, users can also forward this invite to other users that need to be aware of the booking.
Sending the invitation is easy and occurs at the click of a button. Users are presented the below screen at the successful completion of a booking. On that screen, all that a user needs to do is click on the Send Calendar Invitation button and an email with the invitation will arrive in your inbox.
Users will receive the below email from which they can add the booking to their Outlook or Google Calendar.
If a user does not have an email address on their user profile, then, this functionality will not work for them as the system wont know where to email the invitation.
2. Site Administrators can update the company logo by themselves
Site Administrators can now update their company logo by themselves. This functionality is available within the Admin -> Modify Site Settings under Organization Details.
3. Site Administrators can place a message (200 characters max) on their Site Login page
Site Administrators can now place a message on their login page, max of 200 characters. This allows Site Administrators to post special messages or provide any instructions.
The message will be placed above the Login box and the Site Administrators can set/update this message within Admin -> Modify Site Settings under Organization Details. See the illustration below that shows where to place the message.
4. Simplified user support request process
Previously, when a user clicked “Need Assistance”, it provided users with the contact details of all Site Administrators. Users then had to either make a phone call or copy/paste the email address and send an email.
Our goal is to make it easy for users to use ezbook and if they face challenges, they should be able to easily reach out for help and support. With this enhancement, when a user clicks on “Need Assistance?”, it will present them with a form to provide details of their question/concern which will then be emailed to a selective group of users that can help with such service requests.
Site Administrator can configure who get these support request email. It can be configured on the Admin -> Modify Site Settings page. Any user could be a recipient of these service requests. Only criteria is that an email id needs to be associated with that account. Only accounts with an email address will show up on the Available box. See illustration below;
5. Updated moderator window to include date & time of request and ability to sort (ascending and descending)
We have updated the moderator window and added a new column; Date & Time of Request. This will allow the moderator to address the booking requests in the order they were submitted. The below illustration shows the new column along with the ability to sort in ascending or descending order.
The Date & Time of Request is based on the server time, UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). Hence, they may not match your local time. We are working on a solution to enable Local Timezone across the entire application and once that is enabled, the Date & Time of Request will be the same as your local time.
Even though your local time may not match UTC (or server time), users need to know that the sequence of the request submission is maintained which allows the Moderator to address requests in the order they were submitted.
6. New Login pages
The login pages have been updated. These new sign-in pages have a fresh, clean and modern look and work well on mobile devices like smartphone and tablets.
If you have any feedback on these enhancements, please feel free to send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
